One of the major benefits of Nucs over packaged bees is that Nucs already contain a laying queen with brood that are either hatching or getting ready to hatch. This includes nurse and worker bees who are ready to begin caring for the queen and leaving the hive to forage soon after emerging from their cells. Nucs also have pollen and food stores established so your colony has the best chance of survival right from the beginning.
